An intense ruby-red colour with a high chromatic depth. Scent interspersed with hints of small red and black fruits in jam, marasca cherry and wild berries, spiced with cinnamon, tobacco and black chocolate. In the mouth it is dry, warm, with dense tannins, though smoothed by ageing in wood. Minerality and sapidity give it a high drinkability and taste-olfactory persistence, which allows returns of spicy and mineral notes in the retronasal finish.
